Development Roadmap (as of May 22nd, 2020)

With Pixelscape Islands starting to get a little attention, and more and more people downloading the prototype, I thought I'd take the time to quickly outline what to expect and when—and then completely miss every deadline and regret making this post.

As you might know, this prototype is just for the editor portion of the full game, so you won't be collecting/discovering creatures, but I do plan to make (and have already made) multiple updates.  The current version is Prototype 035, and updates will take the project to roughly Prototype 050 before I move to development on the full game.  Here's what that means:

• There is a weekly patch on Tuesdays

• The next patch will be Prototype 040

• There will be at least two more patches after that

• One of those patches will add a considerable amount of new content to customize your islands

• I may make more updates beyond 050 if I feel the prototype could use some more love

• When I begin developing the full game, updates for the prototype will cease, but the prototype will remain free to download.

• When I reach Prototype 100, the game will enter Alpha testing.  This will likely be in the form of Early Access.

• The Early Access build won't be available until it is possible to play through 25% of the full game.  This will include the introduction tutorials, and a sizable chunk of early gameplay,  unlockables, mini games, and achievements.

• The path I take for the full game (early access, publisher, kickstarter, etc) could change.  Development is early, and I am 99.9% focused on simply making the prototype the best that it can be.

If you download, and ultimately like what I'm doing, don't hesitate to give me constructive feedback.  I've already made multiple changes and additions based on messages I received, and even after I stop updating, the prototype feedback will still be extremely helpful.
